ESAMastery.com Review: Is the “Free Store” a Trap?

ESA Mastery says they’ll build you a Shopify ecommerce store for FREE. Twenty products, a theme, dropshipping integration and even training. Sounds almost too good to be true—so where’s the catch?

🔎 See What I Found ⚖️ My Verdict
🛒 🎁 ❓

A “FREE” Shopify Store?

No payment required for the store build—but that doesn’t mean running the business costs nothing.

You know the ad I’m talking about.

Somebody pops up on your screen and says:

“We’ll build your ecommerce store for FREE!”

Not a template.

Not a tutorial.

According to ESA Mastery’s current offer, they’ll actually build the Shopify store, add products and connect it to a dropshipping system.

So naturally my first question was:

Okay…what’s the catch? 😂

Because businesses normally don’t spend money acquiring customers and building things for people just because they’re feeling generous.

So I went digging.

What Does ESA Mastery Actually Promise?

According to ESA Mastery’s current Free Ecommerce Store Build page, the offer includes quite a bit.

🛍️ Shopify Store

A professionally designed ecommerce store.

📦 20 Products

ESA says the store comes preloaded with 20 hand-selected products.

🎨 Theme Design

The offer advertises Shopify theme design as part of the package.

🚚 Zendrop

The store is advertised with a Zendrop dropshipping integration.

⚙️ Fulfillment

ESA advertises automated order fulfillment.

🎓 Training

The offer advertises ecommerce and TikTok advertising training bonuses.

And They Really Say It’s FREE

This isn’t me interpreting the advertisement.

ESA Mastery’s offer explicitly advertises:

Usually $995 → FREE

“NO Payment Required”

ESA also states that it does not ask for payment information to claim the store build.

So based on the offer itself, the initial store-building service really is being marketed as free.

But FREE STORE does not mean FREE BUSINESS.

🎁 ≠ 💰0

This Is the Part Beginners Need to Understand

Free Store Build ≠ Zero Cost to Operate an Ecommerce Business

Catch #1: You Still Need Shopify

ESA isn’t giving you a completely independent ecommerce platform.

They’re building the store on Shopify.

And ESA’s own FAQ tells you that you need a Shopify account for them to build the store.

That means after whatever introductory Shopify promotion applies to your account ends, keeping the store operating requires paying Shopify according to the plan you choose.

That’s not necessarily shady.

Shopify is a legitimate ecommerce platform and online businesses have operating expenses.

But it’s something beginners should understand before interpreting “free store” as:

“I’ll never have to spend any money.”

Catch #2: Having Products Doesn’t Mean Having Customers

This may be the biggest misconception with done-for-you ecommerce stores.

Let’s say ESA gives you exactly what it promises.

You’ve got a nice-looking Shopify store.

Twenty products.

Dropshipping connected.

Checkout working.

Congratulations.

Now…who’s coming to the website?

A store without traffic is basically a beautiful shop sitting in the middle of the desert.

Nobody knows it’s there.

🛒 + 👀 = 💵

The Store Is Only Half the Equation

Products + Traffic + Conversion + Profit Margin = Potential Business

You Still Have to Learn Marketing

This is where people get disappointed with “done-for-you” businesses.

Building the website is usually the easy part.

The difficult part is getting buyers.

That could involve:

  • TikTok content
  • TikTok advertising
  • Facebook and Instagram ads
  • Influencer marketing
  • Google Shopping
  • Search engine optimization
  • Email marketing
  • Organic social media
  • Product testing

And depending on the strategy you choose, marketing can cost money.

Catch #3: “Winning Products” Aren’t Guaranteed Winners

ESA’s page describes the included products using phrases such as “hand-chosen winning products” and “hot trending products.”

That sounds great.

But here’s what beginners need to remember:

Nobody can guarantee that a product will make YOU money.

A product that worked for one advertiser doesn’t automatically work for another.

Your pricing, creative, advertising costs, competition, landing page, supplier reliability and timing can all affect whether a product is profitable.

So Why Would ESA Mastery Build Stores for Free?

This is where the business model starts making more sense.

Free offers are common in online marketing because the free product can introduce people to a larger ecosystem.

ESA’s own pages connect the store offer with Shopify, Zendrop and ESA’s ecommerce training ecosystem.

So instead of thinking:

“Why would anybody give me something for free?”

Think:

“How does this free offer create value for the company offering it?”

That’s the question you should ask about ANY free online-business offer.

And That’s Not Automatically a Bad Thing

This is important.

Affiliate marketing exists.

Referral commissions exist.

Free trials exist.

Software companies pay partners to send customers.

Businesses give away free products to acquire customers every single day.

So a company making money because you later use another product or service does not automatically make the original offer a scam.

What matters is whether the offer is transparent and whether you understand what happens AFTER you claim the free thing.

🚨 But Then I Checked the Customer Reviews

And this is where I would definitely slow down before signing up.

At the time I researched this review, ESAMastery.com’s Trustpilot profile had a 2.0 out of 5 TrustScore based on 11 reviews.

All 11 displayed ratings were one-star reviews.

Now, I want to be fair.

Trustpilot reviews are customer-submitted allegations and experiences. They are NOT automatically proof that every claim is true.

But when you’re researching where to put your time, money and personal information, customer complaints are still worth reading.

Complaints I Found Included:

⚠️ People unhappy with the quality or completeness of the store.

⚠️ Allegations that additional costs appeared later in the process.

⚠️ Complaints about subscriptions or payments.

⚠️ Complaints about contacting support.

⚠️ Negative reactions to the advertising.

⚠️ One reviewer alleged receiving suspicious emails after using a unique email address with the service.

Again, those are allegations made by reviewers—not findings I’m independently verifying as fact.

But I would absolutely read them before handing over personal information or purchasing anything.

🚨 Don’t Confuse Revenue With Profit

This applies to ESA Mastery, Shopify gurus and basically every ecommerce opportunity you see online.

If somebody shows you:

$100,000 IN SALES

That does NOT automatically mean:

$100,000 IN PROFIT.

You have to subtract:

  • Product costs
  • Advertising
  • Shopify fees
  • Apps
  • Refunds
  • Chargebacks
  • Transaction expenses
  • Taxes
  • Other business expenses

Always ask what was actually left over.

There’s Another Interesting Detail in ESA’s Own Disclaimer

One of ESA Mastery’s free-store pages contains an earnings disclaimer explaining that the sales figures presented are personal results and are not typical.

The disclaimer also acknowledges that results vary and depend on factors such as experience, background, effort and other circumstances.

And that’s something I actually want you to pay attention to.

The advertisement gets you excited. The disclaimer tells you what you need to remember.

The Question Nobody Asks: Do 20 Other People Have My Same Products?

This would be one of my biggest questions before using any automated store builder.

If hundreds or thousands of people are using the same system…

how unique are the stores?

Are other users getting the same products?

Similar product descriptions?

Similar designs?

Similar marketing suggestions?

Because ecommerce competition matters.

A store isn’t a business advantage simply because it exists.

Questions I’d Ask BEFORE Claiming the Free Store

✅ Exactly what will I pay today?

✅ Exactly what could I be charged later?

✅ Which Shopify plan will I eventually need?

✅ Are any paid apps installed?

✅ Does Zendrop require a paid plan for the features I need?

✅ Are there upsells after I claim the store?

✅ Can I decline those upsells and still use my store?

✅ Who owns my Shopify account?

✅ Do I control the domain?

✅ Can I change every product?

✅ Are other users receiving the same products?

✅ What support is included?

✅ What happens if I decide I don’t want the store?

⚖️ Is ESA Mastery’s Free Store a Trap?

Based on what I found, I wouldn’t describe the free store itself as automatically being a “trap.”

ESA Mastery publicly explains that you need a Shopify account, and its current page explicitly markets the store builder itself as free.

The bigger issue is expectation.

What You’re Potentially Getting

✔ A starting Shopify store

✔ Products already added

✔ Dropshipping integration

✔ Theme setup

✔ Some training

What You’re NOT Automatically Getting

❌ Guaranteed traffic

❌ Guaranteed customers

❌ Guaranteed sales

❌ Guaranteed profit

❌ Free Shopify hosting forever

❌ A business that runs itself

Would I Try It?

If I were brand new to ecommerce and wanted to experiment with Shopify, I’d view the offer as a starting point rather than a ready-made money machine.

But because of the negative customer reviews I found, I would proceed carefully.

I’d read every page.

I’d screenshot the offer.

I’d understand every future cost.

I’d use a unique password.

I’d watch for subscriptions.

And I wouldn’t spend money on an upsell simply because somebody told me I needed it to succeed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ESA Mastery Shopify store really free?

ESA Mastery’s current offer says its store-building service requires no payment and no payment information. However, the store runs on Shopify, so continuing to operate it can involve Shopify and other business expenses.

How many products does ESA Mastery put in the store?

The current ESA Mastery offer advertises 20 preloaded products selected by its system.

Do I own the store?

ESA Mastery’s FAQ states that users own the store after it is built and delivered.

Does a free Shopify store guarantee sales?

No. Having a functioning ecommerce store doesn’t guarantee traffic, customers, sales or profit. Marketing and product economics still matter.

Does ESA Mastery have bad reviews?

At the time of this review, ESAMastery.com’s Trustpilot profile displayed a 2.0/5 TrustScore from 11 reviews, with all displayed ratings being one star. Reviews are user-submitted experiences and should not automatically be treated as independently verified facts.

Is ESA Mastery a scam?

I don’t think the available information gives me enough basis to make that blanket claim. ESA Mastery publicly describes what its free-store offer includes and acknowledges Shopify costs. However, the negative customer reviews and complaints I found are enough that I would recommend carefully researching the offer and understanding all potential costs before proceeding.

Final Thoughts

Here’s what I want you to take away from this review.

FREE doesn’t automatically mean SCAM.

But…

FREE doesn’t automatically mean there isn’t a business model behind it either.

Ask how the company makes money.

Ask what happens after the free offer.

Ask what you’ll eventually pay.

Read the reviews.

Read the disclaimer.

And most importantly:

Never confuse getting a website with getting a profitable business.

A website is a tool.

You still have to build the business.

Before You Claim That “Free” Store…

Understand the business model, the future costs and what it will actually take to get customers.
